The main active ingredient, Serc, acts in two ways to help in the prevention of Vertigo in many patients. Firstly, Serc blocks the transmission of nerve impulses to the brain which cause vertigo. Secondly, it causes the body's immune system to activate itself. As a result, the body produces antibodies to protect the body from infection. This is usually taken with the first course of treatment.

Some of the other anti Vertigo medicines include Prozac, Xenadrine, and Phenergan. The most commonly prescribed anti Vertigo medicines are Serc and Betahistine. Serc and Betahistine are often used together in combination with one another. Other anti Vertigo medicines include Zalcitabine, Clonidine, Atopica and Niacinamide. The other anti Vertigo medicines can be used in conjunction with Serc. The main difference is that Serc is taken in tablet form and can be taken either alone or in combination with other medicines.
